BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

Judge not, that you not be judged
Matt 7:1

***
Our lives are full of brokenness - broken relationships, broken promises, broken expectations. How can we live with that brokenness without becoming bitter and resentful except by returning again and again to God's faithful presence in our lives.  Henri Nouwen

THANKS
Every day we receive God's benevolance in a multitude of ways. He showeres us with gifts, life, love, peace, prosperity and other presents too great to list. He also gives us lessons in life, love, forgiveness, generosity, humility and so many other things we need to learn and  practice if we are to even begin to attempt to walk the path that Jesus walked.

Is there one of us that does not need to be reminded occasionally that all our posessions, all our talents, our health, and so many other things we tend to take for granted come to us through God alone. How can we appreciate prosperity if we don't have any conception of what it is to have faith that God alone will provide your next meal. Why else would God give us a talent unless we use it to His glory. How can we appreciate that the Ruler and Creator of the Universe walked the earth in human form, not as an earthly king or military leader but as a simple carpenter unless we humble ourselves in our daily lives. Remember, the things that come into our lives that make us exersise our faith are gifts from God as well. He is helping us to grow and guiding us on the path he wants us to be on.

God has provided so much for us that we cannot comprehend. Try to imagine what Heaven wil be like. It seems impossible to even begin to grasp it. God gave us these gifts freely. Are we so wrapped up in our own lives that we cannot get on our knees and just say thanks.

Who We Are

We are a moderate size church located in Old Hickory, Tennessee. We have a heart for fellowship and have been told by many visitors that we are one of the friendliest churches that they have visited. We think the size of our church is ideal for those who want to do more than just show up a few times a week and listen to a sermon
and go home till the next time. We have fellowship activities that bring our members close together, in a more intimate atmosphere. We promote the active participation of every member in whatever ministry suits
them.
With each new member we add to our outreach program. We currently have members involved in oversea mission trips and regional disaster relief work. We have outreach ministries that serve the local community throught the local Christian Outreach Center and Thrift Store as well as trips to the local rescue mission for the homeless to assist the chaplin in presenting God's gift of Salvation as part of the nightly service. There is a place of service for everyone who wants to participate.

Although we have several ministry activities, we need God's people to help us reach out to even more people in need in our community. We are in the planning stages of many other activities. Join us as we explore together, the joy in serving God as we serve others
